
This guy is jabbing the spikes into the bulls back to make him bleed and feel pain and thus get more angry. You can see they are white in color now but after a while, the bull's blood stains them red. He lures the bull over and the jabs them in and runs.

Here you can see the Clydesdale horses dragging the dead bull through the arena. For one of the bulls (the one that was killed so perfectly), they paraded it around the entire arena before dragging it out. A pretty gruesome site.

The matador lines up for the killing blow as the bull awaits. Notice the blood stained spikes hanging from the bull's back.

The matadors did this really often where they would exhaust the bull and then turn their back on it. These bulls must not have been very smart (or maybe they were tired and had no desire to kill their torturers) because they had plenty of opportunities to kill the matador.
Well now you can see a little bit of the tradition and gruesomeness that is Spanish bullfighting.
